Eye Aperture Opthamologist for Dr Haider

With over 10 years of experience, Dr. Ali Haider is one of the top competitors in laser eye surgery in Louisville. Laser eye surgery is performed in-office and can benefit patients with a number of vision issues. This procedure can help people who have refractive errors in their vision, which is being treated by corrective eyewear. Some of these errors can include farsightedness, nearsightedness, and astigmatism. Laser eye surgery is beneficial for those who wish to not wear corrective eyewear anymore. Haider Eye Care provides two types of laser surgery: LASIK and PRK.

Laser Assisted In-Situ Keratomileusis, commonly known as LASIK, is one of the most corrective surgeries offered. A majority of patients will have 20/20 vision within days of getting LASIK. The combined use of infrared and ultraviolet lasers allows for a quick and more comfortable procedure and recovery. Each treatment can take from 5 to 25 seconds per eye and only requires an eye drop anesthetic.

Photo Refractive Keratectomy, also known as just PRK, is one of the original laser eye surgery procedures. PRK reshapes the cornea, but is only done on the service, unlike LASIK. This surgery is more suited for patients with thinner corneas and treats nearsightedness and astigmatism. A bandage contact lens is placed over the treated eye and vision recovery can take about 4-5 days. For some, it may take a month or longer to reach your best vision.
